We’ve all heard of it, we’ve heard the health benefits but we are also all just about done with spending $4+ per bottle at the store.
Kombucha costs pennies to make at home and really isn’t as intimidating as it sounds.
What’s the worst that can happen? Maybe you kill the SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast), not a big deal, just ask a friend for another one! Maybe a bottle “explodes” because you forgot to burp it. It’s an annoying mess but that’s about it.
Kombucha brewing really is a very forgiving process and after a couple of times it becomes an easy, 5 minute part of your week.
Today was River Boats third birthday party we had some friends and family over and kept it easy again this year.
The kids jumped on the trampoline, played in the backyard, drew with chalk and just did their own thing! He loved opening gifts this year and was so excited with everything.
So a little different from my normal posts, I recently changed my skin care up and have been loving how my skin is looking! And it’s so soft!
After coming back from India my skin started to break out again, so I’ve been trying to be consistent morning and night and my skin cleared up in no time at all and my scars are a lot less prominent than normal.
This weekend the boys and I made a solo trip to Albuquerque for their cousins 2nd birthday party. It was a spur of the moment trip and I am SO glad we went.
I didn’t get too many pictures of all of the cousins together as they were on go the whole weekend.
We had so much fun at the birthday party, the kids stayed up late playing and woke up early ready to go to the zoo.
At the zoo they fed the giraffe rolled down grass hills and had ice-cream. And got SUPER excited over seeing the animals. Foster was 100% all about it. We saw baby elephants, giraffes and monkeys (so cute). Foster loved seeing the big cats and the snakes. River on the other hand was NOT about the snakes. I showed him one up close and he screamed and from then on I would ask him if he wanted to see the animals closer and he would say, “No, thank you”.
The winter that didn’t feel like winter.
Seriously, we were able to wear t-shirts on christmas and only be a little cold. We are well into January now and it rained a little bit this morning but is now a bright. warm day.
Of course it’s the first year we bought season passes to the mountain for the family…
Overall it was a good Christmas season!
We had loads of family time, ate lots of good food and the kids were SUPER into it this year! I didn’t take too many pictures on Christmas day because I wanted to be present and enjoy the family.
If you’ve followed along or known me for quite awhile you most likely noticed a drastic change in my diet I have recently switched from following a vegan diet to just trying to live a balanced life.
Foster’s first season of soccer was one of my favorite things that has happened.
He was all over the place, running back and forth across the field and DOING FLIPS ACROSS THE FIELD!
Keeping up with the simple birthdays…..jk. Lo shut that down quick!
She wanted a jungle themed birthday but as she was picking out decorations it quickly turned half rainforest half jungle half safari.
She invited her classmates and some friends and a few friends stayed the night afterwards. They had pizza and popcorn and cake and ice-cream and lots of sweets….which probably attributed to them staying up SUPER late.
Foster’s fourth birthday! In the theme of easy parties we had his party at the skate park!
We went in the morning before all of the big kids got there so the kids were able to play. Right next to the skatepark is a park so the littler kids or kids who didn’t want to ride could still play. We stacked up some donuts for the cake and brought coffee, juice and fruit and called it a day! It was honestly one of the most fun parties. The kids played together so well and the weather was perfect for being outside.
Bear with me here as I update you on 2017 in 2018….
River turned 2 in June!
We had a simple party for him and had some friends over. The kids played in the back yard, in the water, jumped on the trampoline and enjoyed each other! I have stopped putting *SO* much efforts into birthday parties and putting more emphasis on enjoying my growing family and have loved it!
